What To Do If You Have A Sighting:

If you feel you would like to talk to us for advice contact us as soon as possible. Your memory of the event will fade dramatically within 48 hours so in order to be as accurate as possible, write down everything you saw and draw a sketch of what you saw. To help you we have a sightings report form available here. You can print it out and fill it in. Pay particular attention to sight, sound, smell and feelings.

I can still see it! What should I do?

Call us immediately on our sightings hotline. We have rapid response teams in five locations around the Midlands and we can often be with you within 15-30 minutes anywhere in the Midlands.

Don't go near it. Especially if you have an unusual feeling of calm and especially if you are on your own. Your natural reaction would normally be one of fear. Bear that in mind - It's IMPORTANT!

Look at our advice page for details of how to film an unusual sighting. Probably the most important of all is USE A TRIPOD! If you haven't got one, prop the camera up on top of a solid object even the end of a broom handle or broken branch will do.

Should I call the Police.

This is up to you. If the object is in controlled airspace and at a height to cause a danger to air traffic then the answer is most certainly _yes_. When calling them you should state clearly that in your opinion the object is a danger to air navigation. You will be taken seriously. If you can give a location, lat/long a grid reference or an elevation so much the better.
The police are beginning to exhibit a much more open attitude to the sightings phenomena. Detective Constable Gary Heseltine of the British Transport Police maintains an online database of UK Police UFO sightings at www.prufos.co.uk .

Why do UFORM want to get involved?

We are a serious research organization who have direct links to all of the major researchers in the field.

Our Mission:-

Our primary mission is to provide accurate documentation and photographic record of any anomalous phenomena.
Our secondary mission is to document every UFO sighting and contact within the Midlands area of the United Kingdom.
Our tertiary mission is to review and research all or the major sightings within the UK to establish the accuracy and validity of the facts reported.
Our final mission is to keep the UK population informed with accurate reports of sightings, contacts and abductions.

When dealing with you we have four main aims:-

1) To help you recall and record accurately what you saw and experienced.
2) To assist you to deal rationally and emotionally with the experience.  It is often a life changing event and can raise feelings of wonder and astonishment as well as anger, frustration and fear.
3) To help you understand the event. We have a vast database of Midlands sightings and direct links to other research organizations around the world. If others have had a similar experience we will probably know about it and can put you in touch with people in a similar position.
4) To advise you how to deal with any unwanted press or third party intrusions. We will treat everything you tell us in confidence and will not reveal your name and personal details unless wish us to do so. Indeed our advice is not to reveal your name. We will record the sighting in our publicly available database but will not disclose the exact location without your permission.

What should I tell my friends and family?

Undoubtedly you will want to do this and you will be faced with disbelief and ridicule. What will happen is that occasionally after "pulling your leg" someone will say "Well actually, when I was... I saw ...". One thing we know from personal experience is that the minute you have one of these sightings, your life changes completely and all of the skeptics, debunkers and leg-pullers pale into insignificance because you now _know_ that such things exist and over a period of time you will come to realize that you no longer need to talk to this type of person about the event but you do want to talk to someone about it on an ongoing basis. The only people out there who can help you are those who have already "walked the walk". This is where UFORM can provide ongoing and long term support and encouragement. We have many professional people within UFORM from all walks of life who have had sightings and contact experiences and who have found that it opens up new dimensions in their life both experientially and spiritually.

What should I tell the press?

We would advise caution. It is not unusual for witnesses to be misreported, misquoted and mislead. The press are there to sell newspapers not prove the existence of extraterrestrial life.

Why do UFORM believe that UFO's exist?

We do not believe that these things exist, unfortunately we know that they do. Our group is comprised of many researchers who have had both sightings, contact and abduction experiences. We have first hand witness accounts of sightings from many sane rational people who have nothing to gain from talking about their experiences. The alien head which is depicted on our site is taken from a drawing by a member of our group who had a contact experience. This image is copyright of UFORM.
